OUR VERSION OF THE TAO TE CHING IS NOW OUT IN PAPERBACK
This classic of ancient Chinese wisdom, originally composed around 400 B.C.E., is a manual for surviving cultural turmoil. It's also a map for finding a way toward happiness and freedom. This rendition was crafted to help readers understand the meaning of each chapter without immediately needing to consult explanatory notes. Much of the work for this project occurred during sabbaticals and summer breaks, as Stacie and Jeff explored North America in overland vehicles. They honed the text through conversations with Jeff's university students and in Stacie's yin yoga classes. They finalized it in the wake of deconstructing the religious dogmas of their youth, the death of their son, and the intentional scuttling of Jeff's career in church-related higher education. Through all of this, they confirmed for themselves the enduring value of the Tao Te Ching for their own lives. They offer it to readers as a resource for finding spiritual, financial, and mental emancipation.
A poem about destiny, psychogeography, and synchronicities. It’s also about predestination and spiritual bypassing, and self-loathing, and our own divine spark.
